Kia Ora (hello from the land of the long white cloud)

IMG_1635.JPG

I was thrown in this direction through reading a post by practicalthought@practicalthought, the initiative was originally engineered by mariannewest@mariannewest.

The challenge is to name one thing I am grateful for, every day, for seven days. I am also supposed to throw out the names of three people to also do the same, each day! To be honest I don't know if I am comfortable with that. So I guess I will give the option here for anyone who wants to, you can do the same. That way there's no coercion from an unseen force. Which I think is more appropriate for Steemit anyhow, to not have your participation dictated by other people.

I feel that this could be challenging in looking at just one thing and saying I am grateful for that, because in truth I'm grateful for so many things. Life is this constant interchange of energies and particles, it's so reliant on its self - really I get to enjoy so much every day. I'm grateful for a comfortable bed, and a limitless supply of hot water. Home comforts can make a body feel good after doing labour. I am grateful for a tap that supplies water on command to quench my thirst, and the jug filter that takes out the fluoride and metals. I'm grateful for a stable internet connection, it means I can listen to music and connect with many communities including Steemit. I'm grateful for the sunlight that is growing my little rows of rocket (which you call arugula in Americans). I am grateful for a functional keyboard. A smart phone which is inconceivably powerful compared to the '386' computer my parents used when I was 5 years old. I'm grateful for peace and quiet to pursue my writing, and I am grateful to live with people who like to cook and love to share. So really so many things if I stop and just observe them. My heart is not clouded when I recognize how all of this is conspiring for me. It's my identity that always needs more, so I just ignore that guy and get on with enjoying life.

Seemingly I am not allowed to use the #7daypositivitychallenge tag because it starts with a number. Strange when I just read a post which used that exact tag.

On another side note, does anyone have a mobile app for Steem that they recommend? I have been talking some friends around into getting involved, and they want to use their phones. I have used 'eSteem' a little and it's OK but not very user friendly. I am hesitant to recommend that to anyone unless it was the best of the worst.
