Writing is the easiest thing in the world. The hard part is being someone that everyone wants to listen to.

It's a delicate game being in exactly the right place to be accessible to as many people as possible, or finding some way to lure them in. There is an aspect of being a trapper or an enchantress in putting forth content. We must admit that this is a part of being a content creator - therefore it is a part of being on Steemit.

Let's explore this, what is the extent of the game playing that we are willing to go into? I have artist friends who are intensely independent about their process, aiming for as pure an expression as possible. Even these friends put some necessary time into 'schmoozing', navigating the endless stream of buyers, galleries, and people who can help you sell your pieces.

People want a connection, they want a connection with you. This is only reason why we do anything ever, it's to find this connection. In truth we can actually connect with ourselves fully and completely, yet for must of us being with other people is the best way to feel alive and connected. So when we make our content, we should keep this in mind. How does it connect to the person listening in?

I think we can agree that the best content is relatable and feels authentic. A real artist is genuine and spontaneous, and they come from a very true place - whatever happens to be true for them. Your blog is a medium of art whether you realize it or not. It's an expression of you, and understanding this can bring us into contact with feelings of intense vulnerability. Through putting things forth to the world we begin to see who we really are, what our insecurities are, and how much game playing we are really doing.

It's a symptom of our age, that is feels so difficult to fully express ourselves and to honestly express ourselves.

There's always a game really, it's an inneviatable consequence of our social situation. Some of us are obsessed with rules, yet these tend to lead toward domination and imbalance. Rules tend to enslave, and they tend to make people feel miserable on some level. Human beings are very much attracted to people and things who break the rules, either through being a badass, allowing themselves to be vulnerable, or using humour.

Rules and enforcement make us feel less safe in expressing ourselves, because we fear 'doing the wrong thing'. We fear being judged by others, and upsetting the group (either real or imaginary). We fear violent reprisal or verbal abuse, and we also fear the uncomfortable feeling that arises when we reveal our deep inner truth. Yet when we reveal that deep inner truth something magical occurs.

This is what we call alchemy, by naming things we release them. By owning them we transmute them. And by accepting who we are without blame, we heal a wounded part of ourselves. Furthermore by being fully honest in this life, you passively affect everyone who interacts with you literally, figuratively, and energetically.

It's unfortunate that during most of our childhoods we were imprinted with, and programmed into various thought patterns and reward/punishment systems. We had experiences which were stored into the body. It's these patterns and systems that make us feel bad about being honest, that is the fear we face in having integrity as artists. This is the fear we face in admitting that we are wounded human beings full of compulsions and blockages.

At some point the human conversation with life became an incredibly serious thing, and unfortunately it's something each of us has to go through. It's the painful process of going from an innocent child, to an unhappy adult - then finally a self aware human being who understands why they do what they do, instead of just living out the programs that were placed into their heads as a matter of course.

These are ways to reduce the seriousness of the game. We can make fun of it for one. We can also use our minds to pull it apart. Most powerfully we can change our lifestyles in order to promote a wholesome appreciation for life and how miraculous it is, and we can actively cultivate a less cluttered anxious thought process.

It's my understanding that on the most basic fundamental level - the game isn't real. There is an immense power open to us if we get our heads out of the game. It's not a power of domination, it's more a feeling of great buoyancy and enjoyment. It's this very lightness which when birthed into existence, will transform the nature of our experience.

  • Resentment becomes Gratitude

  • Fear becomes Love

  • Repression becomes Expression

  • Self Doubt becomes Self Appreciation

  • Selfishness becomes Benevolence

  • Difficulty becomes Absolute Ease

It feels great to be alive and being who we were meant to be. I want to celebrate that right now, and I want to thank all of my readers for bringing that into the world in one way or another.

Peace
