Gift of wisdom is probably the gift of discovering and explaining the deepest Christian truth. In the Scriptures, wisdom is often considered as the innate force in every individual, which prompts and guides one in the paths most pleasing to God. It is a gift of the Holy spirit, which prompts all to have the necessary disposition towards
following the ways of God. All Christians should seek this gift, which enable them to have the right discernment of the Spirit especially when one is at a crossroad, deciding which way to go. This gift helps Christians to make the right decision at every point of life they find themselves and such decisions will tally with the will of God. Giving
credence to this, the Book of Wisdom laments:
"As for your intentions o Lord, who would have learnt it, had you not granted your wisdom and sent your Holy Spirit from above ". (Wisdom 9:17- 18)
Thus, Solomon desired wisdom because:
"…she knows and understands all things. She will guide me prudently in all my undertakings and protect me with her glory. Then all I have to do will be acceptable ". (Wisdom 9: 11-12).
We too, should seek the gift of wisdom to help us discern the will of God and follow the ways that are pleasing to God. The same wisdom in all aspects of Jesus' ministry guided him to do things freely that are pleasing to the Father.
