Onboarding is hard... That's a fact... Everyone who tried to onboard someone to HIVE knows that the best... I tried that multiple times, with many of my friends and some of them even have HIVE accounts, but maybe wrote 1 post, or none... The only successful onboarding by me was my wife... lol... But, that doesn't count... There can be many reasons why people don't want to join HIVE, but many times the main reason is something that we find as one of the the biggest advantages of this network! The rewards on posts and the "crypto aspect" of it...
I suppose that we have to put ourselves in their shoes to understand the real reason WHY NOT... Imagine that you had no idea about crypto and the only information that you got about it is by watching a TV... Just by listening to the latest news, you would find out that "crypto is the main source of funding for terrorist organizations around the world, which makes it the reason for the current wars!"... And you have to try to explain to your friend to join HIVE where they will earn "evil crypto"?!
Let's forget the "evil crypto" reason and go back to the "blog-to-earn" aspect of our network... "Where does the money come from?", "It will collapse and go to zero", etc. As I'm not too much into onboarding, I didn't hear these questions for a while... Until the latest HiveBeeCon where the guy asked them... While those questions are important to be answered, are they really important to understand BEFORE you even join the network? I mean, if you want to do blogging stuff and engage with others, without investing a dime... You don't get any money for your FB, or IG stuff, so why do you suddenly care about free money on HIVE (which isn't free, but that's another topic)?
What do I want to say with all this? Well, I suppose that we are doing things wrong with onboarding (me first!)... We are showing shining hundreds of dollars posts on the trending page which can occur very rarely for new accounts... We are trying to explain HivePower, RCs, HBD, HIVE, Voting Power, etc. at the first encounter with an interested person... Maybe we should emphasize the real value in our network, for example, that very HIVE Meetup where we gather to talk about it, to have a good time with our friends, and meet new ones... Maybe in all that crypto story and counting money, we forgot the point of HIVE... In the end, we are the social network, so why we don't "sell" those strong points?
The friends we met, the experiences we got, the things we learned, the things that have changed in our lives thanks to it... Show by example...

Some of the well-earning posts came to the payout so this week's numbers look amazing... It would be nice to see them more often like that, but that's highly impossible... Never say never, ph1102! 😃
Anyway, in the last 7 days, I have accumulated 325 HivePower, which is probably one of the record weeks ever! Most of that came from 3 successful posts... During this week, I wrote 5 posts counting this one, which isn't bad at all!
"Only" 1355HP more to get to the yearly goal!
Regarding my LEO Power goal, I have changed certain things and it wasn't a bad week this time... I can't push up my curation rewards as they are more-less the same week by week, but I can earn occasionally more from the author rewards and by buying tokens from the markets... I did some of that and I staked 76 LEO tokens in the last 7 days... It's not something spectacular, but it is more than in previous weeks...
GAMING GOALS - Flexible Goals
If you open regularly the same amount of packs week by week, you will have the same, predictable number of cards week by week... That's what I'm doing in the Rising Star game and I'm accumulating 175 cards per week with my strategy of opening 60 packs per week... Almost 13.5K cards in total... A bit more than 1500 cards to my yearly goal!
Something similar to the RS goal happens with my GLX tokens goal... I'm accumulating new tokens ONLY by compounding my rewards, but the weekly growth is incredibly precise every time! I'm not buying additional tokens, I'm not "rigging" the game... 😃
During the last 7 days, I have accumulated 2250 GLX tokens in total, which is the same amount that I have done in my last report!
