As @dlmmqb wrote, there is a 1% beneficiary (which authors can remove, so sometimes it's 0%) reward, and not sure that it can even cover the expenses if you use your machine ONLY for encoding... But, I'm running it for maybe a week, so I don't have more data about it...

As jobs are only sporadic, you can do other things without any issues...
