What I love about Hivebeecon is that you feel more connected with the people and have the chance to engage and get to know other Hivers, which is almost impossible in Hivefest because Hivefest is a big event.

You are right about that! And another reason is maybe also that people who come to HiveBeeCon really want only to hang out with other Hivians and have fun... No calculations, pressure, stress, or whatever... That makes it so special!
