Unfortunately, it happens a lot that people approach something with a lot of enthusiasm, and when the motivation fades, they quit, leaving the whole work to those who are persistent... Lucky for you (and bad for him, as of the divorce), you got help, and the garden does look nice... Imagine how it could be if everyone contributed! It's a pity that we don't have something like that in our city... I would definitely give it a hand...
