I think no matter the country or the party the political persuasion, they're always crooked in one Way or another my experience.

Hahaha... we are on the same page on that... It's just a question if their "crookery" is more visible or not, or legalized or not...

Unfortunately, I'm also having one banking account (I remember the time when I had like 4-5...) that I use for paying bills... Luckily, I'm debt free, so I don't need to stress about dealing with banks too much...
