There was growing interest in rally in America in the early 2000s but the cable TV channel that covered WRC was bought by Fox, changed from lots of motorsport to more and more NASCAR, and less rally. There are still rallys almost everywhere but you won't know about them unless you know. America would probably love rally if it was more widely known about.
