Have you ever written about living on the St. Croix island?

And sorry if it means I've forgotten or not read something you've said on the subject, but did you ever find relief from your headaches?

I'm not sure I feel as at home in the present state of affairs. Alienation is not unknown to me but I see many pillars of the culture I grew up in as effectively dead. Or changed so much as to be unrecognizable. Seeing the majority of people collectively and repeatedly making mistakes without changing course-that the average person in say 1994 would see as obviously bad decisions-is pretty surreal.
