Hey Brandon, sorry I never got back to you about this. "Invalid Recovery Account" means that your recovery account is @steem which was sold to that thief along with other Steemit assets. This is because your account was created by Steemit back in the day.

In Hive, the recovery account is for the possibility that you change your master password or owner key and then lose the new one, or if your account is stolen and the owner key changed (which can only happen if the master password or owner key is compromised). You have a 30 day window after the owner key is changed to recover it, in partnership with the recovery account set to your account.

Using the old password or key, you can prove to the recovery account holder that your account belongs to you, and they can change the keys on your behalf to get your account back.

This is not a major issue if you keep your master password/owner key offline, because it would be pretty hard to steal if you're not entering it in any website.
