What's better, a good picture with some noise or no picture at all? :) These shots look like they were taken at night with artificial lighting right? They look good! People are used to night photos being imperfect with some noise.

And another thought, with sports, shallow of a depth of field can look dramatic for players but can blur out too much background context too, so having an f-stop at 4.5 isn't the worst thing!
