What I like about Christmas is seeing my loved ones, friends and family back in Slovakia and getting in touch with those that we havenβt been in touch with much for the rest of the year.
Presents are much more fun when theyβre still wrapped and under the tree... the mystery is far better than the present itself I think...
For the rest, Christmas has not always been my most favorite time of the year. All the movies and songs about loving each other are a nice attempt to make it look like itβs the most wonderful and loving time of the year... but itβs always felt somewhat forced and unnatural to me when underneath the surface people may have resentments they attempt to cover up with niceties and βshould look happyβ masks.
So all I want and wish you all for Christmas is authentic and genuine love, appreciation of yourselves and those around you and also freedom from wanting what you canβt have or cannot change.
