The first day of March in my country Bulgaria is connected with an ancient tradition.There is a legend that it exists since 681 when our country was founded.
A white and red thread symbolize the thread that binds Bulgarians as a people.
All Bulgarians around the world wherever they are on this day give each other "Martenitsa".
Handmade bazaars are made in cities all over the country.
This day is the happiest and most joyful for all Bulgarian children.
In kindergartens, children await with excitement the arrival of Baba Marta.
Pre-prepared children's programmes are performed and all children are presented with martenitsi.
Everywhere children's songs are heard singing about the martenitsa and the coming spring.
A Bulgarian tradition that preserves us as a people, perhaps the most Bulgarian of ancient times.
A tradition that makes children happy, sung in many children's songs, which children are happy to sing on this day.
Tradition dictates that on this day every Bulgarian should be given a martenitsa, which is worn until the sttirkel is seen.
It is taken off and tied to a blossoming spring tree.

El primer día de marzo en mi país, Bulgaria, está relacionado con una antigua tradición. Hay una leyenda que existe desde el año 681, cuando se fundó nuestro país.

La tradición dicta que en este día todos los búlgaros deben llevar una martenitza, que se pone hasta que se ve a la cigüeña.
Entonces se quita y se ata a un árbol primaveral en flor.
