Early morning in the Drakensberg South Africa during winter. The snow had started melting and I found this Erin Lilly still waiting to escape from the very thing it needs to survive.

I think about the struggle the plant has to endure first before it can benefit from the water arounds its roots after the ice has melted. Do we have to go through some hardship first in order to better prepare us for what we really need?

I think in many cases this is true. Easy come, easy go. Without appreciation, do we hold any value in what we receive, enough to keep protecting it? Even with relationships, do we value those who give a lot, enough to give as much or do we take advantage of their kindness and so doing allow them to get hurt?

It was a nice photographical find, the rest are just ramblings.
