We have recently come back from our romantic honeymoon in Thailand, where we visited Koh Chang island on the east cost of this beautiful country. We were quite satisfied with our 6 nights stay at Awa Resort so I thought I'd give you a review of it in case you're thinking about going to Koh Chang too.

The lobby area had a very unique design with the reception to one side, a sitting area to the other and a pool right behind it:

The resort was divided into two parts and some of it's rooms were near the pool area, close to the reception, other ones, like ours too were on the other side of the road with a garden view.
Our room was a good size, it had a very comfortable king size bed, bathroom with a shower and a kettle with complimentary coffee and tea:

It also had a great balcony with a garden view:

The breakfast was quite good, a big choice of Western and Asian foods, also as much coffe and tea as we wanted:

Between the hotel and the beach there was a good size pool:

It was well lit at night:

It's a 4* hotel with a sun deck, a comfortable place to hang out and to watch the sunset:

It also its own beach where you can enjoy the sun:

You can get a thai massage on the resort's beach (which we did twice):

The staff were vey polite and smiling all the time, they tried to be helpful when we needed something.
There were a few negatives to the place too, the biggest of them being that the internet almost never worked. They had 2 different wifi networks, the one in the room was either very weak or not working at all, and it was usually the same at the reception area. This is the case on most of the islands, they are just not good at wifi networks I guess...
The shower in our room wasn't hot enough and the water was only coming out of the shower head very slowly. After an evening out when it wasn't that hot outside, or a day spent diving we would have loved to take a long hot shower but it was not to be.

Other than these two things we liked the place a lot and we'd recommend it to people who are looking for comfort and good value on their holiday.
