The news of the death of a child by flogging in the northern part of Nigeria has been headlining a few news report stations;
An instructor at Government Day Secondary School Sankalawa in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State has purportedly flogged a student to death.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the occurrence was uncovered on Wednesday by Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar-Gummi, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
The appointee speaker, who talked under issues of pressing importance open significance amid the gathering's sitting in Gusau, said that the house had gotten a few reports on the issue.
According to him, another occurrence at Government Female Day Secondary School, Kwatarkwashi, had prompted the injury of a student in the school after the Vice Principal supposedly subjected her to overwhelming discipline.
Gummi stated: "These issues apart from debilitating our children from securing education, likewise uncovered poor disposition to take a shot at the piece of educators in this state."
He asked the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology to disclose steps taken to address the issues.
The Speaker, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, portrayed the activities of the educators as terrible and pledged that the assembly would not enable the issue to pass.
"It is a part of our obligations to guarantee compelling security and great learning environment for our kids for their future improvement, in this manner, we can't enable educators to keep harassing our kids from schools," he said.
I really don't understand what is happening in the world today, few days ago a 19 year old boy shot about 17 students dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida and about 14 others injured with his AR-15 rifle.
The perpetrator of the evil act Nikolas Cruz was said to have been expelled concerning disciplinary issues, events like this makes you ask questions like;
- why is he even with a gun in the first place
- obviously he is mentally deranged, why was he not in a facillity before he commited such havoc
- How come he had hatred for people of different races and immigrants.
All these and several more questions will be traced to him having no parents as reported,that both parents were dead.
- Did he have a guardian
- was he under foster care even though he is an adult now;
I really don't know how the procedures and processes work but all i know is that this violence in the world against children and families has to stop.
Think about the anquish of the parents, its unacceptable, how can you take back the news of a child flogged to death to his/her parents its pure violence!!No one should have to go through that!
Any abuse of any form, in any way has to stop, because the world does not feel like it is safe for our offsprings again.
