I wanted to talk about that can the plant be watered by rain, but reading through I read where you wanted that too many erosion by rain can wash the root stem away. Aside that, I am curious to know I haven't seen this kind of plant around here. Can it grow on any soil?

Also, I am familiar with the method of protecting the root stem from erosion and sun by covering it with weeds. That method can be used cover hips for planting tubers of yam. Thanks for sharing this idea, you are welcome.
