Hello everyone I'm Hezron :)
I joined steemit yesterday after a friend recommended that I check it out as a great new social media platform. So far my experience has been great, it is nice to see such a vibrant, buzzing community backed by an encouraging incentive.
I have noticed that it is somewhat steemish traditions to do an #introduceyourself post. So here's mine :)
So my name is Hezron. It is a very old Hebrew name that pops up here and there in The Bible. The reason I'm telling you this is because people always ask me about my name, so I thought I would beat you to it :P
I'm 24 years young and I have grown up in the sub-urban area of London. The area I live in is still very much London, with its diversity, accents and temperamental weather lol. However, it is not as busy as Central London (thank god) and there is a lot of greenery, which means I breathe better oxygen..ha!
I have always been the creative type, from a young age I have enjoyed drawing, photography (yes the photo above was taken by me) and making music. My passion for different art forms is partly my Mum's influence (because she is quite arty too) and also because I am left handed...possibly?!
The crazy thing is, even though I like drawing, taking photographs and making music, I didn't choose to pursue these things when it came to me starting my career. I am good at troubleshooting technology so I chose to go the IT route, plus I looked at it as a more stable career path. I started as a basic 1st Line Support IT guy and then gradually over the years drifted into marketing new technology to consumers.
5 years later, technology didn't do it for me anymore. I was still good at it, but it didn't allow me to express myself how I want to.
I needed to find my Art-Mojo again!
So I said f*** it! I bought myself a new DSLR and some new art supplies and got back doing what I love. Of course I couldn't just ditch my job because that would be stupid as I have bills to pay and responsibilities, however I now had a way of expressing myself in the best way for me...through art. My dream would be to have a career in what I love doing and that is the plan, but I feel the main thing for me now is to just enjoy myself and as my art develops, hopefully I will be able to make a living from it :)
