Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
Season 113 was marked by the end of The Great Burning event (more on that in next section), but it was also a big season for me as I made my very first leaderboard finish, bought bunch of new cards and a land plot.
Before I get into how I did this season, let's check out what happened in the world of Splinterlands during this Season 113 that took part in the second part of June 2023.
The end of the season marked the finish of 5 Years Anniversary event - The Great Burning! (details can be found 👉 here 👈).
In the end, total numbers were over 380mil DEC and 161mil DEC-B burned! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I burned 20k DEC, enough for 6 entries for the raffle, to get some guild points and just to have a chance of winning some prizes. Of course, I didn't win anything.
There were some people that won some BETA and RIFTWATCHERS packs with just 1 entry and a couple that won a PLOT with just 3 entries. I think that the biggest winner was a person that won a RUNI with only 8 entries! WOW!
All the results can be checked on this 👉 link 👈. Maybe you manage to find some more interesting winners.
SPL team introduced some nice game updates during this season, which should improve the quality of our gameplay.
First update brought new gameplay updated like changes to the interaction between buffs and debuffs to prevent situations where +2 buffs would incorrectly be removed by a -1 debuff under specific conditions (I wasn't even aware this was a thing, thankfully someone did).
Other nice gameplay update was that season reward chest type should no longer reset to Bronze if you skip playing an entire season. Like rating, it should now carry over from the last season finished.
There were some general updates introduced to the game, like:
- Last portion of a major overhaul of our internal card market functionality (this should be invisible to players, but should improve market performance)
- Fixed an issue that could lead to incorrect collection power adjustments when rentals ended (I didn't know this issue existed)
- The minting information for cards is now carried over onto combined/burned cards and appear on cards/find API results, as well as the last market sale price and token. This will initially be blank for all historical combined card records, but we will back populate the data as a separate future project. You can see this information, for example, on peakmonsters.com in your card collection and it looks something like this:
Second update of the season was even more exciting and it brought softer season resets, meaning that the season rating reset values have been adjusted to reset users to the mid-point rating of the new league tier, instead of the bottom. This is to prevent the issue where a single loss could drop players into an entirely lower league at the start of the season. You can see the changes on the table below:
This information can also be found in-game on the League Rewards information on the League Details off of Battles.
Other big update introduced was that the Card Market and Collection pages have been moved to Tech Modernization client. New filters section even allows you to look up cards by card's name.
Among other, general updates, most interesting ones were that the Burninator, The Incinerator, and The Scorcher titles have been added to the game, which will be awarded when the 5th Anniversary Event ends following the update. Also, the majority of card creation information has been back populated from pack openings and reward cards. There are still some special cases, like certain promo cards, that haven’t been added yet.
During the season 113 I managed to stake 1,500 SPS bringing the total just over 12.5k staked SPS. I picked up the pace on staking mostly due to nice EOS reward and my participation in tournaments.
The USD value of my SPS portfolio went up (almost $40) mostly due to market price finally going up a bit (it is at $0.018 compared to $0.016 last season).
Total supply of SPS went up for 9.5 mil, total liquid went up 1.3 mil, and total staked SPS is now 8 million SPS higher then last season. People are preparing their staked SPS for ranked battle rewards, and so am I. My goal is to keep staking all the SPS I get.
With prices of cards still being so low is bought some cards again, but I managed to purchase one Rare Land Plot, so I'm in a process of buying GF common cards as workers for my land. During this season I spent over 300k DEC on this.
I'm focused on epic and legendary cards, since I'm mostly finished with upgrading commons and rare. Legendary CL summoners are still quite expensive for me to upgrade, so I'll do them gradually.
My current collection is now just over 227k CP (plus 25.4k CP in Gladiator cards and 124k CP in Soulbound reward cards), and that is a jump of 20k CP in span of a season. But soon my CP won't matter any more, and it will all be about staked SPS (for ranked battles) and PP (for land).
This season I played in Modern Gold league for Diamond season chests. I continued to rent most of the important Untamed cards, so my win-rate is till quite high.
Going into the last day of the season I was just outside the top 10 on the leaderboards so I decided to try to make a push and get into top 10. I got to 3260 rating for a second, but lost one match and dropped to 15th place (later I found out it would be enough for 9th place).
I tried to win some more matches but then again lost two in a row dropping out of top 20. I was ready to give up but somehow I managed to get a 4 wins in a row getting me close to that sweet number 10. Unfortunately, I lost another battle so I decided to call it a day before I drop out of top 20 again.
I finished the season at 14th place securing a 10,000 DEC reward. That 3260 place would be enough for 9th place and 20,000 DEC, because it seems that no one in top 10 did any battles after me as they all remained at their places till end of season.
Since 10k DEC covers for half of my rentals, I decided NOT to advance to Diamond league, so I will be playing for Gold season chests next season. Also, I will be starting from Gold 3, and not Gold 1 league.
Next season goal is TOP 10 so the reward covers my whole rental expenses. Uh, that would be nice...
Lets see how this season looked like in numbers.
I finished the season with staggering win rate of 75% and earned 70 Diamond season chests, together with another record 198 daily focus chests (which makes it an average of 13.2 chests per day). So the renting more cards resulted in better performance (as it should), but we still have to get better EOS to have any extra profit.
Compared to last season this is an improvement in average numbers since last season was 2 days longer.
The SPS chart below shows that my SPS earnings were pretty constant during the whole season, with a big spike in the middle of the season (one sweet daily rewards) and even bigger one on the last day - that is the SPS from EOS chest.
Battle SPS is still most often much higher then SPS rewards from chests and I don't think this will ever change, or maybe it will be with new staking rewards rules. We'll have to wait and see..
The rating chart below shows my steady climb towards Leaderboard rating, without any big dips or spikes. Starting from Gold 1 really helps, because I get to my "normal" earnings quite early in the season.
I ended the season at 3226 rating, almost the same number as last season. But then it wasn't even enough for top 20 and now it secured me 14th place. I didn't advance to Diamond so my rating will reset to 2050 - middle of Gold 3 league.
After great EOS SPS rewards last season, I hoped it will be on pair again this season. Of course, it wasn't - SPS rewards were 3 times lower then last season (but still quite nice).
As you can see I didn't get a lot of different cards, but some that I got came in lots of copies. 228 SPS I got will surely come in handy and the CL pack I got turned up to be a vanilla one (4 commons and 1 rare).
I just realized I have almost 300 BCX of Firecaller, it seems like I get her almost every day. 😆
For the ones that like numbers, I made a recap of the whole season.
| Income | Amount |
|---|---|
| DEC earned from rentals | 3,243.238 |
| DEC reward from leaderboards | 10,000.000 |
| SPS earned from battles | 251.208 |
| SPS earned from chests | 371.067 |
| SPS earned from tournaments | 1,037.202 |
| Outcome | Amount |
| DEC spent on rentals and fees | -21,839.946 |
| SPS spent on tournament fees | -66.000 |
| PROFIT (DEC) | -8,596.708 |
| PROFIT (SPS) | 1,593.477 |
Total DEC income from rentals is seriously low, and it has been for last couple of months as I combined a lot of cards that I used to rent and now use them in battles, but also the prices have gone down a lot - not even @splinterrents can help me with that.
If that wasn't bad enough I'm spending loads of DEC on renting because I got promoted to a higher tier (Tier 4) guild, and brawls got really hard now. I'm also playing some tournaments and you really need to be on top of your game in those.
On the bright side SPS earnings were almost on pair with last season (which was record breaking mainly because of the great EOS rewards) thanks to some great Tournament results. Since it's all going into staking, I will have to find another source of DEC (maybe rewards from this post? 😄).
It is so much easier to track your earning now with the new Currency Activity feature in-game, kudos to Splinterlands developer team for making this happen.
I explained how to use this feature, export it to Excel and do the calculations with the data in one of my previous posts. If you missed it, you can find it in the link below:
And finally, for the ones that like to look at the pretty card pictures (like me) I will show you my whole season recap - all 267 of them (70 Diamond EOS and 197 daily Gold chests combined). 😍
You might notice I won a couple of legendary soulbound cards during the season, but none of them were Gold Foil (like the 3x GF Kulu Mastermind last season). Here is the recap in numbers:
| CARDS | |
|---|---|
| Common Regular | Common Gold Foil |
| 263 | 10 |
| Rare Regular | Rare Gold Foil |
| 45 | 1 |
| Epic Regular | Epic Gold Foil |
| 4 | 1 |
| Legendary Regular | Legendary Gold Foil |
| 3 | - |
| POTIONS | |
| Legendary Potions | Alchemy Potions |
| 279 | 273 |
| CURRENCY | |
| SPS | Merits |
| 628.893 | 7,904 |
| Chaos Legion Packs | |
| 6 |
Since I'm participating in bunch of tournaments lately, I thought I should summarize them. So, here it is.

| 29.06.'23. | Scarred Hand Diamond Beginner Cup | Diamond/Chaos | 4 SPS | 3/8/0 (27%) | 141st | 4 SPS |
As you can see, I had most success in Silver tournaments, and least success in Diamond ones. I enter Diamond ones to gain some experience from battling stronger opponents, and usually break even with entry fee and rewards.
I have to work on my deck some more to be more competitive in Gold tournaments because I'm missing all the Untamed cards and most of Riftwatchers, so I'm doomed to renting those.
The June had ended, but the giveaway event on Splinterlands TV continues. This event will be live through the whole summer and is called Summoner Summer.
The Summoner Summer promotion, as the name states, will be very summoner heavy. There will be a mix of Chaos Legion summoners, Alpha and Beta summoners at various levels, Gold Foil Promo Summoners plus a max Delwyn Dragonscale, and dozens of Untamed Rare and Legendary Summoners including the grand prize GOLD FOIL BYZANTINE KITTY!!
At the time of writing this posts, still no one won this card. But just so you know, that Kitty has my name written all over it, so don't be sad when I get her. 😍
If you want to see prizes that have been handed out in this event, check out the blog of my dear friend @jabeesaints. His last post lists the winners sorted by total card values won!
Check out his post 👉 here 👈.
Big shout out to @deadzy for making this beautiful splintershare site, where you can see all your chest rewards for last couple of months and easily share it with your fiends and family.
Also, I have to mention guys from @splinterrents. Without their rental service I wouldn't be able to manage my rentals, have time to play AND make awesome blog posts. I highly recommend this service! 👍
And this last season rewards screenshot, the season summary, was made on splex.gg site.
Special thanks to @lenonmc21 for giving me advices about the text formatting to make my posts even better. 👌
