Rebellion Pre-Sale Status & Amazing Splinterlands Brawl #183 - by @pero82
Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
Rebellion Pre-Sale Event is almost at half way point. Have you secured you share of pre-sale packs?
Make sure you buy all the packs you need before they run out, because almost 300k is already gone!
Why am I saying this? Because the battle for the leaderboard is still far away from being over. Some of the biggest players haven't even started buying their packs, probably waiting to see how it all pans out.
Don't forget, that the top 6, in addition to the shiny new Title, will get the chance to be a part of designing new legendary summoner cards! I bet it will be a battle for those 6 places till the very end of the Pre-Sale event, so don't get surprised if packs run out.
Are you going to get into the pre-sale action, or are you going to miss out on this amazing opportunity?
Now, lets get into Brawl action! This week we had another amazing Brawl with of our Tier 4 guild Peakmonsters Pirates, where we placed in 2nd place, with the pretty safe margin from 3rd place, but also quite a big margin from the 1st place.
Our guild had 101 wins and 46 losses which resulted in 303 points. For comparison, The Guild of Neoxian, placed first with 375 points, while our Peakmonsters Legion placed third with 273 points - in other words, each guild sat comfortably in its place.
For this great result the guild has won spoils of 157 Crowns and each fully participating member was rewarded with 8,971 Merits and 151.029 staked SPS. 😍
Brawl SPS pool for this month is 2,238,345 SPS and it will decrease by 1% after 14/11/2023 to 2,215,962 SPS, as we are currently in 12th distribution month. We can see in the image below how much SPS is distributed per brawl cycle in each Tier.
Total amount of Staked SPS Rewards that has been earned in all Brawls thus far is 16,440,609 SPS.
We started with SPS rewards 12 months ago with 2,500,000 SPS in the pool, which decreased by 1% each month and will continue to do so for 65 months. What will happen after that, we don't know for sure, but probably the SPS DAO will pick up on reward distribution.
This brawl I played in my usual Frey 9 which is limited to Gold level cards with only Chaos and Untamed cards available to play (Modern format).
I finished with the score of 5 wins and 2 losses.
This placed me in the middle of my guildmates. While my performance was on par, some of my teammates performed flawlessly - @mumuwhale got a clean sweep. He does that on regular basis.
All of my 7 battles were clean wins/losses. Can't really complain about any RNG working against me or for me.
My plan for this post is to go through my battles and try to explain my thought process of picking each team, what I got right or where I went wrong.
In the first battle we had mid-high mana pool (45 mana), Even Stevens (only even cost mana Monsters available), Keep Your Distance (Monsters with Melee attack unavailable) and Equalizer (Health of all Monsters is equal to highest base Health Monster) rulesets, with Fire, Water, Earth, Life and Death splinters available.

My opponent chose Water splinter with Kelya Frendul summoner and I chose Fire splinter with Yodin Zaku summoner.
My only fear for this battle was that my opponent would go with a summoner that gives Return Fire ability to his team (like Lir Deepwimmer of Water splinter, or Ilthain of Life splinter), as that would seriously hurt my chances of winning. This way it was an easy win.
In the second battle we had high mana pool (46 mana), Counterspell (all Monsters have Magic Reflect ability), Reverse Speed (Monsters with the lowest Speed go first) and Born Again (all Monsters have Rebirth ability) rulesets, with Fire, Water, Life, Death and Dragon splinters available.

Since I had such an easy win with Fire splinter and Yodin Zaku summoner, I gave it another try - and it worked out perfectly. Again, my biggest concern was Return Fire, but my opponent went with Fire splinter and Tarsa summoner, and practically sealed his fate.
Another straightforward, easy win.
In the third battle we had very low mana pool (15 mana), Counterspell (all Monsters have Magic Reflect ability), Lost Legendaries (Legendary Monsters unavailable) and Melee Mayhem (Monsters with Melee attack can attack from any position) rulesets, with Fire, Life, Death and Dragon splinters available.

My opponent chose Dragon and Life splinter with Camila Sungazer summoner, while I chose Fire splinter and Tarsa summoner.
My choice of summoner neutralized the -1 Melee attack I got from my opponent's summoner, but I lacked focused damage. My opponent wisely used 3 Sneak monsters and went through my backline like knife through butter.
I should've used more cheaper monsters, like Uraeus or Serpentine Spy, instead of Explosive Rats.
In the fourth battle we had high mana pool (54 mana), Holy Protection (all monsters have Divine Shield ability), Close Range (Monsters with Ranged attack can attack from first position) and Taking Sides (No Neutral Monsters available) rulesets, with Water and Death splinters available.

We both chose Water splinter, but my opponent went with Kelya Frendul summoner for +1 Speed and Armor, while I went with Possibilus the Wise for that Reach and Trample abilities he gives (and that +2 Health doesn't hurt either).
I had two monsters with Blast ability that helped get rid of that pesky Divine Shield so it doesn't get in the way of my Melee attack Monsters. My opponent made a mistake of not focusing damage but it was spread on 3 different monsters, while almost all my guys attacked the front. And once it get rolling that Trample ability is so good.
In the fifth battle we had mid mana pool (38 mana), Close Range (Monsters with Ranged attack can attack from first position), Fire & Regret (all Monsters have Return Fire ability) and Counterspell (all Monsters have Magic Reflect ability) rulesets, with Water, Earth, Life and Dragon splinters available.

We both went with Water splinter but my opponent chose Lux Vega neutral summoner and I chose Kelya Frendul, so he had +1 Health advantage.
I thought how I will be super smart and overloaded my team with Opportunity monsters, but my opponent had the speed advantage and took out two of my monsters before I even got my turn.
After that it was all downhill for me. I was overpowered and easily lost the battle. He outplayed me with Baakjira (Slow ability gave him speed advantage) and he had more mana to spare, because my Arkemis the Bear cost twice as much mana.
In sixth battle we had mid-high mana pool (46 mana), Earthquake (non-flying Monsters take 2 damage each turen), Ferocity (all Monsters have Fury ability) and Keep Your Distance (Melee Monsters are not available) rulesets, with Fire, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon splinters available.

My opponent chose Earth splinter with Obsidian summoner, while I went with Dragon and Life splinters with Lily Shieldpaw summoner.
This was an easy win because my opponent had only level 2 summoner (that's Bronze level), on top of that he used Mycelic Slipspawn for a tank, which got crushed because it has Taunt ability and received double damage from everyone because of the Ferocity ruleset (Fury ability). If that wasn't bad enough he had only one Flying monster, so most of them died from Earthquake damage.
My idea was to use all the Flying monsters and buff my tank Void Dragon with Martyr monster, while the others are covered with Camouflage from summoner, freely dealing damage and healing the tank.
In seventh battle we had mid mana pool (30 mana), only Silenced Summoners (Melee Monsters can attack from any position) ruleset, and only Death and Dragon splinters available. Fairly simple - or is it?

Of course, we both chose Dragon and Death splinter, with Epic summoners. I already explained why Epic summoners are so good for this ruleset in one of previous posts, you can read it HERE.
Only difference is that I chose Kretch Tavellor summoner and my opponent chose Sthispa, so I had one more mana to spare.
We both had similar idea, with Thorns tank in front and mix of ranged and magic attack behind. But I had advantage of extra armor and melee damage buff from Ravenhood Warden, and Doctor Bligh with his Poison (for extra damage) and Affliction to stop the tank from being healed.
Brawl rewards for this cycle were distributed as shown in the image below. The spread between first three places was bigger then the last time, as the point margin was bigger as well.
Thank you all for reading this long post. I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time.
