Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
This week we had an amazing Brawl with of our Tier 4 clan Peakmonsters Pirates, where we placed in 2nd place, and I was super close to achieving my 2nd ever brawl clean sweep (I managed to win in every single battle up to last one).
Our clan had 101 wins and 41losses which resulted in 303 points. We were only 4 wins away from the 1st place and 25 wins above 3rd place. So you can say this was a battle between 2 clans. Next time we'll get them!
For this amazing result the guild has won spoils of 167 Crowns and each fully participating member was rewarded with 8,748 Merits and 201.553 staked SPS. 😍
Brawl SPS pool for this month is 2,260,955 SPS and it will decrease by 1% after 14/10/2023 to 2,238,345 SPS, as we are currently in 8th distribution month. We can see in the image below how much SPS is distributed per brawl cycle in each Tier.
Total amount of Staked SPS Rewards that has been earned in all Brawls thus far is 14,979,385 SPS.
We started with SPS rewards 8 months ago with 2,500,000 SPS in the pool, which decreased by 1% each month and will continue to do so for 65 months. What will happen after that, no one knows (ok, probably someone knows).
This brawl I played in Frey 8 which is limited to Gold level cards with only Untamed and Chaos Legion cards available to play (Modern format). I played awesome Brawl up until the last battle, when I lost to a player from the guild that placed last in this Brawl. 😩
I finished with the score of 7 wins and that 1 loss.
This placed me in the 1st position among my clanmates, even though our leader @mumuwhale played a perfect Brawl with score of 6-0, but I had more battles in my fray and in the end more wins/points. The rest of the guild also performed amazingly.
My plan for this post is to go through my battles and try to explain my thought process of picking each team, what I got right or where I went wrong.
In the first battle we had high mana pool (50 mana), Up Close and Personal (only melee monsters available), Aim True (all attacks hit their target) and Heavy Hitters (all monsters have Knock Out ability) rulesets, with only Life and Death splinters available.
| Result | Lineups | Battle |

| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
We both chose Death splinter but my opponent chose Lux Vega summoner and I chose Astralis. The difference between our teams and what decided the outcome of the battle was that I had Thorns in front and back, thus protecting both line-up. Drybone Raider with his double attack was a huge advantage for me because of its greater fire power and Shatter.
In the second battle we had mid mana pool (31 mana), Equal Opportunity (all monsters have Opportunity ability), Up To Eleven (all monsters have Amplify ability) and Are You Not Entertained (additional Gladiator card can be used) rulesets, with Earth, Life, Death and Dragon splinters available.

| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
My opponent went with Life splinter and Grandmaster Rathe summoner with mostly melee monsters. I, on the other hand chose Earth splinter and Mylor Crowling summoner that gave all my monsters Thorns.
Because of the ruleset I could chose two Gladiator cards and of course I did chose them. Quora Towershead and Katrelba Gobson - both super-powerful monsters. I surrounded them with Martyr cards and there was really low chance of not winning. The Amplify made extra Thorns damage to my opponent's monsters and my Gladiators took the rest of them out.
In the third battle we had high mana pool (54 mana), Equalizer (all monsters have the same health as the monster with highest base health), Aim True (all attacks hit their target) and Stampede (Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed) rulesets, with Fire, Water, Life and Dragon splinters available.
| Result | Lineups | Battle |
|---|---|---|
| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
We both went with Water splinter and Possibilus the Wise summoner, because he gives all the monsters on the team Trample and Reach ability, which go perfectly together with Stampede ruleset.
Difference in our line-ups was that my opponent went with more support monsters, sacrificing his
fire power, while my team was all about the damage output.
Dumacke Orc is an amazing tank in Equalizer ruleset, because it nullifies his main drawback - lack of health.
In the fourth battle we had mid mana pool (41 mana), Broken Arrows (no ranged monsters available), Weak Magic (magic attack hit armor before health) and Melee Mayhem (melee monsters can attack from any position) rulesets, with Fire and Earth splinters available.
| Result | Lineups | Battle |
|---|---|---|
| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
We both chose Fire splinter but my opponent chose Tarsa summoner for that extra melee attack and health, while I chose Conqueror Jacek for +2 speed (speed is the king) and Piercing (to penetrate their armor faster).
My speed advantage was the key to victory in this battle. And when my Gladiator monster Chimney Wallstop got on a roll with a couple of kills and got the Bloodlust buffing him, he was unstoppable.
If I used a monster with Protect it would be even easier win, but this worked, so I can't complain.
In the fifth battle we had high mana pool (50 mana), Tis But Scratches (all monsters have Cripple ability), Counterspell (all monsters have Magic Reflect ability) and Target Practice (all monsters have Snipe ability) rulesets, with Water, Earth and Death and Dragon splinters available.

| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
We both went with Earth splinter but my opponent chose Scarred Llama Mage summoner and I went with Mylor Crowling summoner again for the Thorns he gives to the whole team because I was expecting my opponent to go heavy melee like I did.
I guess he was expecting that I will go ranged attack and take out the Martyr monsters first, leaving his Catrelba Gobson as last to get the buff from Llama. But my team was all about Sneak attack so Catrelba died before the Fungus Flinger and his plan failed.
In sixth battle we had mid-high mana pool (48 mana), Up To Eleven (all monsters have Amplify ability), Armored Up (all monsters get additional 2 armor at the start) and Silenced Summoners (summoners lose their abilities) rulesets, with Fire, Water and Life splinters available.
| Result | Lineups | Battle |
|---|---|---|
| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
We both chose the same splinter and summoner - Water splinter and Bortus summoner because he costs only 3 mana, but my opponent went with mostly melee monsters while I went with full magic line-up so I don't have to bother with opponent's armor.
Lobstradamus as my tank was the main star of this battle, buffed with Amplify he reflected double damage back to enemies making them easy target for my damage dealers.
In seventh battle we had mid mana pool (34 mana), Target Practice (all monsters have Snipe ability) and Up To Eleven (all monsters have Amplify ability) rulesets, with Fire, Water, Death and Dragon splinters available.
| Result | Lineups | Battle |
|---|---|---|
| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
I was so impressed how my Lobradamus performed so I planned to use him again because I had Up To Eleven ruleset again. But I needed to protect the rest of my team from Snipe and other stealth attack - that's why I chose Lily Shieldpaw summoner with Water splinter and bunch of healers behind, with Axemaster as my main damage dealer.
My opponent also chose the Water splinter as well with Possibilus the Wise summoner and mostly melee team, but it wasn't enough to get rid of my lobster with the whole army of healers and reviver behind him.
In seventh battle we had highest mana pool (99 mana), Back to Basics (all monsters lose their abilities), Briar Patch (all monsters have Thorns ability) and Rise of the Commons (only common and rare cards available) rulesets with Fire, Water, Death and Dragon splinters available.
| Result | Lineups | Battle |
|---|---|---|
| ✅WIN✅ | ⚔️Link⚔️ |
My opponent went with Water splinter and Kelya Frendul summoner and I went with Death splinter and Owster Rotwell summoner.
I expected my opponent would go magic heavy so I wanted to counter that with Magic Reflect from my summoner. But he didn't use a single magic monster but instead he went heavy ranged attack and totally annihilated me.
If I went with Water splinter and Lir Deepswimmer summoner to give my team extra armor and Return Fire ability, he wouldn't stand a chance. But it's easy to be the general after the battle, I should've thought it better.
And just like that I was one win away from clean sweep in this Brawl. I still can't believe I lost my very last battle.
Brawl rewards for this cycle were distributed as shown in the image below. Pretty decent rewards, as it would be expected for a Tier 4 Brawl.
