Greetings to the Garden community members and stakeholders. In this post, I want to share again about our activities in the garden. This garden has soil of mixed colors and textures: in some areas, the soil is black and loose, and in some corners, the soil is yellow and hard. Finding black, loose soil is rare in hilly areas, and that's the advantage of this garden; soil with this texture is usually very fertile. If the soil is yellow and hard, it will be a bit difficult to grow crops, as hoeing and loosening will be very difficult. Furthermore, water absorption will be quite high and it will dry out quickly. Chilies should be planted in areas with moist soil. In our experience, this will slightly support fertilization and accelerate growth, while also saving on watering costs. In this garden, we grow chili peppers classified as cayenne peppers. There are several types of cayenne peppers in our area, but they generally look similar and are classified as hot. We typically use split bamboo, 3-5 cm wide, and reach a height of 70-100 cm. Generally, there are no significant differences between these types of cayenne peppers, but in our experience, the BENCONG CAYLE CHILI is easy to care for and requires minimal fertilization. It's easy to care for, and yields a good harvest, with a higher selling price compared to other types of cayenne pepper. Currently, our chili pepper plants have grown to 30 cm, with several stems starting to appear, and some trees have already flowered. This is what I mentioned earlier: although the trees aren't very tall, some of the chili pepper stems have already produced white flowers. These flowers will develop into the chili peppers themselves. The plastic we use is black, though we also offer a silver-black version. According to the manufacturer, the thickness is only about 0.30-0.50 microns, which is considered a common thickness. The width of the plastic is adjusted to the size of the mound. Available in widths ranging from 80 cm to 120 cm, and a single roll can be up to 100 meters long. This is estimated to be the size of the main trunk growth area and to provide a place for fertilizer placement around the tree trunk. This plastic is very useful, including preventing weed growth, maintaining soil fertility and acidity, so that the nutrients in the soil area are not shared with other plants. Kebun ini memiliki tanah dengan warna dan tekstur yang bercampuran, di beberapa titik tanahnya berwarna hitam dan gembur, di bagian sudut ada juga yang tanahnya berwarna kuning dengan tekstur keras. Mendapati tanah dengan warna hitam dan gembur adalah hal yang sulit kita temukan di wilayah tanah perbukitan, itulah hal yang menguntungkan dari kebun ini, tanah dengan tekstur seperti ini biasanya sangat subur. Cabai sebaiknya ditanam diarea lahan dengan tanah yang lembab, dari pengalaman kami, itu akan sedikit mendukung penyuburan dan percepatan pertumbuhan dan juga menghemat proses penyiraman air. Di kebun ini kami menanam cabai dengan klasifikasi cabai rawit, cabai rawit di wilayah kami memiliki beberapa jenis, pada umumnya mereka tampak terlihat sama dan tergolong ke dalam jenis cabai dengan rasa yang pedas. Batangnya tidak terlalu besar, namun terlihat kokoh dengan akar rambat yang menjadi penopangnya, sehingga jika tingginya sudah semakin tumbuh maka dibutuhkan penopang, penopang ini biasanya kami gunakan dari bambu yang telah dibelah seukuran lebar 3-5 cm dengan tinggi mencapai 70-100 cm. Pada umumnya, tidak ada perbedaan yang mencolok dari jenis cabai rawit ini, namun dari pengalaman kami, CABAI RAWIT BENCONG ini adalah jenis cabai yang mudah dalam perawatannya dan minim pengeluaran biaya untuk pemupukan. Keunggulan lain yang telah kami dapatkan pada musim tanam sebelumnya adalah, memiliki buah yang banyak, minim pemupukan, pemanenan berlipat ganda, minim penyiraman air, harga jual yang mahal dan perawatan yang mudah. ![192854.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ponpase/23wMUEfyk4cSkoC7ARYZHEyzSF2U3o7wob7PTx8JukkEnnate4dbGXoBLQ5uHq2p8sEa7.jpg) Hal inilah yang membuat banyak petani di wilayah kami memilih menanam cabai jenis ini, karena perawatannya yang mudah, kalau hasil panennya memuaskan dengan harga jual yang tinggi dibandingkan dengan jenis cabai rawit lainnya. Saat ini tanaman cabai kami telah tumbuh hingga 30 cm, dengan beberapa batang dan yang mulai tampak menumbuh, ada juga beberapa pohon telah ditumbuhi bunga. Inilah yang saya katakan tadi, meskipun pohonnya tidak terlalu tinggi, tampak beberapa batang cabai telah mengeluarkan bunga-bunga berwarna putih. Bunga inilah yang akan berkembang menjadi buah dari cabai itu sendiri, bunga yang ditumbuh ditahap awal perlu diperhatikan, karena apabila bunga yang tumbuh tersebut tidak bertahan dan jatuh, maka perlu dilakukan perawatan dengan cara penyemprotan pupuk pendukung bunga dan pembuahan. ![192849.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/ponpase/23uFRhvTAGm94hNaAtD8mei6BVh9neGmUGyVP8LGkyFrCa5Tkj7zAi2ddRAXtMt6kXV9x.jpg) Hal lain yang terlihat dari kebun kami adalah setiap area yang ditanami cabai, kami telah membuat gundukan tanah dan memasang plastik di bagian tanah. Plastik yang kami pasang menutupi bagian tanah ini sangat penting dan ini menjadi fokus utama kami setelah penggemburan tanah pada tahap awal pembukaan lahan kebun sebelum ditanami cabai. Plastik yang kami gunakan ini berwarna hitam, ada juga yang warna hitam perak, ketebalan plastik ini menurut keterangan hanya sekitar 0,30 - 0,50 micron, ini sudah termasuk ketebalan yang umum kami gunakan. Untuk area penanaman pohon cabang, plastik ini telah kami bolongin dengan diameter hanya sekitar 5-10 cm saja, itu kita perkirakan seukuran luas untuk area pertumbuhan batang utama dan sebagai tempat untuk penempatan pupuk di sekitar batang pohon. Plastik ini sangat bermanfaat sekali, diantaranya adalah mencegah pertumbuhan rumput liar, menjaga kesuburan, keasaman tanah, sehingga nutrisi yang ada di area tanah tersebut tidak terbagi dengan tanaman liat lainnya.
