That's right, the corona cops are coming to get you! Well, at least on some campuses in the US. It's the newest "benevolent" (authoritarian) measure being pushed by colleges as students are getting ready to return to school this coming fall. You can help keep people safe by reporting your peers who don't follow the guidelines.

The University of Miami already has a system in place. it's called "Report a Concern"
Additionally, in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, members of the University community are asked to do their part in helping to slow the spread by practicing a variety of healthy behaviors including physical distancing, wearing face coverings, as well as frequently washing your hands and using hand sanitizer. Furthermore, students must not host or attend large gatherings—whether on or off campus—where physical distancing cannot be maintained. Students are encouraged to report concerns about unsafe behaviors to 'Canes Care for 'Canes by completing the form below.
Administrators will review the concerns the next day before a crisis develops, they write.
This mentality is spreading. Texas A&M University has a reporting system for staff to report someone, a colleague or student, that they suspect of having COVID-19 or having come into contact with someone who does. The Nazis are brewing their mindset again.
Tulane University's system can have people report "problematic behavior" about COVID-19 safety guidelines as well. They can even call the university police.
“Do you really want to be the reason that Tulane and New Orleans have to shut down again?" Tulane Dean of Students Erica Woodly wrote on the reporting page announcement.

Anyone can report anyone, and the "authorities" get involved to force you to get tested. Someone pissing you off? Report them for COVID-19 activities or violations. Fun.
Legal foundations and rights groups are objecting to these measures, as it violates individual rights. The rise of the coronavirus police is at least being objected to by some academics.
"People report on one another (truthfully or falsely) for a number of personal reasons, including competition, revenge, leverage and everyday aggravations. There’s every reason to assume that these motivations will bubble up in the college context, too. Students have their own loyalties, broken hearts, rocky roommate relationships and fraternity codes of silence," Karen Levy, an assistant professor at Cornell University and Lauren Kilgour, a doctoral candidate at Cornell.
