Paradoxically, good conversation must also respect silence.

Reminds me of Miles Davis’s quote: In music, silence is more important than sound.

And it’s true, choosing to pause instead of just rambling (or playing virtuosic solos that are just a string of notes with no break) gives a different flow to things.
