There have been numerous discussions regarding how to achieve financial freedom in life, and many different methods have been suggested as the best ways to do it. Even then, there is another way to look at this concept because, in my opinion, financial freedom is not just about being wealthy.
I've been working on improving the definition of the term "financial freedom" over time in an effort to help others comprehend what it actually means as opposed to the degree of comprehension that some people are forcing on others.
Financial freedom - what is it?
Being financially free refers to having access to all of your needs, whether they be material or financial, at any given time. Being financially free does not require one to be extremely affluent.
Recently, there have been a few minor misconceptions concerning this subject, and as a result, many people have felt pressured to take unwarranted financial risks in an effort to achieve financial independence. Many people are increasingly falling prey to a number of fraudulent investments in society in an effort to become financially independent.
If the way people view financial independence is not altered, many people will continue to make poor financial decisions. Possessing an unlimited supply of cash or controlling every major corporation on the planet is not a requirement for financial freedom. Many people now exhibit more greed as a result of this type of mindset.
I recently provided a brief explanation of what financial freedom can entail at one of my office teachings. I clarified that being able to meet one's needs without going overboard on wants immediately qualifies one as being financially free.
Everything related to our daily activities, such as food, transportation, shelter, investments, and our capacity to pay for education (degrees), is what I considered to be a person's vital necessities. Being capable to do all of this without moaning is a glaring indication of financial freedom.
Nothing worthwhile in life can be attained without outstanding effort. Whatever your definition of financial independence may be, it's critical to implement some measures to keep things running smoothly so you can preserve your financial freedom over the long term.
(1) Understand That Your Needs Override Your wants.
Just as economists make it known that human wants are insatiable, they are desires that one can't really be satisfied with irrespective of how plentiful they might be compared to our needs, which are human basic requirements that have to do with our survival on a daily basis.
One ability to be able to understand these two well enough will definitely help not to spend money unnecessary on things that are not that important. Most individuals who complain about having financial hardship at times are individuals who mismanaged their earnings at times. They spend money on every single thing they see once it looks attractive.
(2) Choose An Investment plan
No one gets rich by just earning monthly wages; this was the first statement I told my colleagues in the office, though some took it as a joke. But honestly, when it comes to sustaining a financially free life, investment is very important. It's very important that one has an investment plan, be it Real estate or cryptocurrency(Leo token and hive as an example), among others.
Doing this will serve as a support system and help keep one financially safe and healthy. Just like I said earlier,no one gets Rich by just collecting monthly wages.
(3) Have a saving plan.
Saving is another measure that one needs to key into when it comes to keeping yourself safe from financial stress. Our ability to understand that life at times comes with some unplanned circumstances that might require financial needs is very important.
Even aside from that, saving will automatically help to get some budget or goals fixed later on, such as buying a car or house, among other things.
(4) Always keep a to-do list.
This is another tool needed to keep your financial life safe. Keeping a to-do list will definitely help you know what's next on your list and how necessary it is to work towards achieving such goals. To avoid spending without having something to point at as part of your achievement, keeping such a record will go a long way.
(5) Know Your limit; don't spend more than your income.
Spending below or within your income is very important when it comes to maintaining a safe financial life. Going out of your income will not help one to keep a safe financial life, and that might lead to being bankrupt or having serious financial issues.
Conclusion
It's not all about owning everything in the world that makes one financially free, but being able to meet your day-to-day financial needs without stress is a clear example of being financially free. Even at that, it's very important to keep working on measures to keep your financial life safe and, at the same time, improve it.
What's Your View on this? How will you define financial freedom in your own way?
