I think it is just different segments, it is probably the same in the art world in general , big players can make any crap and will make money only diff now it is digital, but art is only the start really and that broader landscape is taking NFT with it, fair enough they pushed NFTs to be taken more serious and progress but now you have the whole identity tied for most people just to being about some pictures.

I think it is still just plain copyright infringement if they use said image for monetary gain, it is even simpler to then ask them to prove ownership of it. Outside of money gain just saving the image and keeping it is public domain. The apps like showroom etc are responsible for at least not making high res available for end user download as the image is a representation of the asset.

For the art and photo things, it is no different than having your images on a royalty site the only difference is being able to very easily determine if someone truly owns it.

That is what makes the art aspect so difficult, music, images etc people don't dyor and few really care it is a goldrush at best. They are bickering about non-issues.

As for the twitter ones, they just hook into OpenSea which is mainly based on Ethereum and fair enough they can use that Api to then show an avatar people truly own but that does not ensure verification or anything. It just means the avatar is on OpenSea as an NFT and the user is paying twitter membership lol.

You see how it is a silly moneygrab feature? Example my avatar is on DLux and I own it and Dlux set it for me as my profile pic, beyond that someone could copy it and say many many copy it, so my NFT is popular right? Then all the interfaces are like ok we will make sure you own it and make it stand out. So then only mine would change and people would know I own it. The difference is who minted it and the verification is inherent to DLUX since it is from their platform. So it does not help someone go make their own NFT with my original image because they won't get verified.

That is where the twitter one breaks down and further promotes a broken system just for money instead of trying to innovate a better system.
