Must be a lucky week but all signs point to that being a lie. At least a person can ride it out with something good to watch.

Scavengers Reign

Although there is now a full series and possibly a season 2 this stemmed from a 4-year-old short film which in itself is artistic and original.

Scavengers Reign pays homage by being just as artistic as the short film and the speculative biology keeps a person watching from one eyecatching scene to the next.

The story itself is simple enough, a spaceship blasts escape pods to the nearest planet and after some survivors are able they call down the main ship and proceed to try make it to the landing in the hopes of being saved.

There are 3 or so groups of survivors with one solo and her bot, a solo dude who frankly is just the signature scum of the show, and then a team of scientist survivors.

The show drew me in mainly with the weird interactions of animals and their adaptations. Everything on the planet seems designed to reproduce and eat in some way or another. If I had to choose the plants are likely the most dangerous because they are everywhere and unassuming.

My favourite animal though is also one of the main "villains" but really it is just a misunderstood panda and it unfortunately got teamed up with the asshole crybaby of the show so even I would become a villain then.

There is quite a bit to keep track of but also a lot that should rather not be pondered beyond that it seems neat. Specifically, there is one episode which irked me a bit mainly because it just did not track and not even from a plot point but because the whole show is so visual and the interactions so intricate the fact that this episode had a lack of them said a lot.

All in all, though it is a visually engaging show without too much human blabbering aside from the crybaby dude.
