In less than a blinking, she felt disoriented. Her legs walked alone. His chest was very restless as if she had walked for a long time. He stopped for a second to watch her surroundings.
A forest. A beautiful forest.
She Looked down and realized that she was in the middle of two lines of trains, each one on one side of her.
Rare.
Her mind was completely in blank, almost as if she hasn't any memory. She tried to make an effort to remember how she got to that place but she was not even able to remember her own name.
She turned her whole body towards the path that she was supposed to be walking. Thinking to return.
She fixed her eyes in one of the lanes next to her, underneath it through the ground and dry leaves could be seen a series of arrows going to the road from which she apparently came and every three signs the word "life" was wrote.
Surprised she turned her gaze to the other lane noticing the same characteristics only that the arrows pointed in the opposite direction and could be seen the word "death".
As soon as she read that word she got scared and stepped back without realizing two steps in the direction that marked the path "life". In a flash she could remember his name.
"Sara"
She walked in the opposite direction, where the lane marked "death" and as she remembered her name she suddenly forgot.
She felt as if would forget something, she knew that she forgot her name, but she couldn't formulate the words that made it up no matter how hard she tried.
She walk back to the "life" lane and her name came to her mind again.
She kept walking, each step was full of memory. Her family, her friends, her first steps.
Without realizing she didn't walk anymore, she ran. Her mind was charged with that new information about herself and a smile on her face, discovered little by little.
Her rush stopped abruptly and her smile disappeared from her face as she remembered how she got there. What would be her last memory.
In front of her was a tree, the lane ending in this one. The tree had a door with a handle included.
She came closer to touch it and more memories came to her, memories that brought out a loud sob and tears.
Sara was kidnapped. Now she remembered it. Every second next to her captors, every terrible thing they did to her and every torture applied to her body. The final shot to her head.
She opened the door of the tree and through it she could see herself, she was in a hospital bed, with a tube entering her mouth, some cables was connected to her body, almost all her face was covered in bandages hiding her eyes, her forehead, her ears and the back of her head. That image only made her cry even more.
Her parents asleep in uncomfortable chairs holding her hand.
Sara turn back suddenly. Wanting to forget the image that she knew was her present. So it was.
Only the bitter feeling was still there and the tears kept coming out.
If she would entered, that door would be her life, she would have to assume the reality and live with the consequences that will remain on it.
That wasn't life.
Determined to not return to that life and to forget everything, she ran with all her strength towards the opposite lane, the "death" lane.
She'd rather die at once than live like that.
She ran and ran, forgetting with each step an aspect of his life.
Her steps became slower and slower until she was only walking.
Disoriented Without any memory.
She turned his eyes around, noticing the two lanes and his written words.
The same movements were made, the same doubts were raised and the same forgotten memories were remembered with each step in the lane of "life".
Sara didn't know that this routine had been repeated countless times around eight months.
Sara didn't know that she never had two choices but only just one.
Sara didn't know that the only thing she could do was enter through that door and face her reality.
Maybe Sara never will.
Maybe will be too late when Sara took the right path completely and decides to wake up.
