These days modern football has brought us immense comfort in brand new state of the art stadiums. Like the new Wembley and the new stadium of Tottenham Hotspur as examples. But every country or league has an example of a traditional club with a stadium that is as old as the street but breathes atmosphere and history. And that is something new stadia just can’t produce. The stands with grass on them, the wooden benches in the main stands. The impressive lights, and everything so close to the pitch, you can almost touch the players…
Like this stadium of KFC Uerdingen 05 from Krefeld in Germany, winners of the German Cup in 1985. This stadium is just awesome, but they are not allowed to play in it anymore, because of safety issues. Sad, but understandable… Still, it breathes atmosphere!
Nothing like the good old days!
Sincerely,
