They stole hearts

Our Belgian 3X3 basketball team is a special story. This format is really new to Belgium, and this team was only recently formed. They qualified for the Olympics in Tokyo very late. As amateur basketball players with a day job they are a rarity on these Olympic Games. So their qualification was already a success. But no one could have thought that they would win 4 games and qualify directly for the semis. In those semis they lost big to the pros of Latvia, and the same thing happened in the bronze medal game against Serbia.

But what a fairy tale they wrote there, they stole the hearts of the neutral fan and they inspired young kids to follow their dreams!
A fourth place that is worth more than any gold medal!

Sincerely,
