On a previous post, someone asked me if I had use a sanguigna pencil to draw. I had no idea what is was, but I did hear it before (in the same week actually). So I was curious about it as I use basic colored pencils. It seems to have a few name variation such as sanguine. Which actually refers to the color blood in french. Makes senses as the colors is reddish like blood.
I was passing in front of the art store, so had to go go. 3.99 later, got my first "sanguigna pencil" 😃. It looks like a regular colored pencil actually, but boy does it goes well, a totally different feeling! It slides as well as butter in a hot pan. The pressure you apply makes a really big difference, gives you way better control to have different depth. I am impress, I feel I will be able to draw a few nice things with it. Ok, it is probably a basic thing that you learn in art school, but it is not part of the basic knowledge of a hobbyist, so for me, it is a great discovery. Thanks
