Ah the elephant, an old time classic. Their size alone is impressove, so the whole package om makes it awesome. I love them, you can actually see a mini elephant in many of my drawings. So I like to dedicate one drswing to it once in a while.
As for for the background scene, let's just call it inspiration.
For the basic sketch, I used a 4h pencil to add more details and shadows after using darker pencils; all the way to 6B. Once it was done, I added some watercolors to finish it up.
