Hello Hivers, especially to the community of family-friends@family-friends

A community that values friendship and promotes it as a value.

We all know the value of friendship, there is a reason why they say:

"It's better to have friends than to have money."

So friendship, culturally, is well valued.

Aristotle said in his book: "Nicomachean Ethics".

"The good man is a friend, the bad man is always in an internal war."

"He who loves himself, can love others and make a friendship."

And from there I wanted to start on the importance of friendship, although it is considered a value, a virtue. It is born of the good man, so it is an exercise of benevolence to make a friendship.

The reflection I want to talk about today is to recognize ourselves as benevolent beings, practitioners of the virtue of friendship.

I reiterate, Aristotle said: the good man... The benevolent one is the one who can exercise friendship.

The action of recognizing ourselves as benevolent, will allow us to be compassionate with ourselves, and therefore, to be self-compassionate, and if I have made a mistake, not to be my executioner.

I recognize myself as benevolent, if I am benevolent to others, I will be benevolent to myself. Besides, said the same philosopher, who loves himself, can make a friendship.

So the friendships you have are a thermometer of your emotional health. Many friends are directly proportional to healthy self-esteem.

I find it interesting to observe this relationship between emotional health and friendships.

Since few or no friendships, it is an alarm signal, to attend to my emotions and look at myself consciously.

I also mentioned companionship, that camaraderie, a person who has: similar tastes, responsibilities, or objectives and that is why they share time. Example: Work colleagues, have similar objectives and this leads them to share time, there is a reciprocal relationship, in which I benefit and you benefit from doing benevolent actions with me and I with you. At the moment of achieving the objective or changing tastes, surely there will be no more companionship between these people. They share nothing in common.

Valuing a partner as a friend is a common mistake among Venezuelans. A friend is someone you love, just as he/she is. Remember that friendship is a value, a virtue, in practice, to exercise benevolence towards another person. In this, it is identical to companionship. The difference is in the: "so that..." since there is no common goal, it is done only for love and my emotional health allows me to do it.

And when, a companion, besides having a common purpose, and behaving as good companions, we exercise friendship among us, that is fraternity.

Love between people who treat each other as brothers. That is, if we have some common purpose, I am with you, and if I don't, I am with you too.

Now it is easier to understand why you must have emotional health, to be able to be a friend. It is to be able to love, without the absence of reciprocity affecting you, since you did it with the security that comes from you, from your love, not expecting anything in return.

That is why a friend is worth so much, it is a real treasure. Learn yourself, if you have friends, understand all the benevolence that is in you.

And with the self-confidence that this gives you, exercise it calmly and with love.

I hope you enjoy these reflections.

If you want to comment something about your friends, or friendship anecdotes, comment them to share them.

I think it is more understandable now, when I say goodbye:

A fraternal embrace for all.
