The way kids are emerging with intelligence and wisdom in this world is amazing.
There is this saying that village people especially women used to say;
"What you handle regularly will eventually rub off on you, just as a fish seller smells of fish."
Meaning the person's behavior or environment influences them either positively or negatively. A child whose parents are content creators or public figures will definitely be influenced by what their parents are doing online. If a mother likes talking about a particular thing, like food or clothing, one day that child will set his or her pod and do the same on social media.
Nevertheless, children are imitators, so we should be mindful of the things we put out so they learn the positive part of it. If a mother or father likes setting up a camera to abuse people on social media, your child will do the same outside on social media. For our children to be good influencers, either on social media or not, we need to teach the good part, how to address people, respect and honor people around them, and present themselves in a better way.
I like staying on my Facebook scrolling for reels and more. I stumbled on this woman's post two years ago, by then, she had two children, a girl and a boy. Her first child came through natural birth, and her second child, a son, came through IVF. She shows her hair, her cooking, and how to prepare her meals. She has another child now, a baby girl, still through IVF to make it three children. Scrolling through Facebook, I saw her first daughter, an 8-year-old child of 8 years old, setting her camera to talk in her splendid room, sharing how she made her bed, preparing for school, showing her school uniform, and all. The funniest thing she did initially was how she called her viewers "guys". I checked the comment section and people were wowed by how she has grown, her accent was beautiful, and they were impressed that she carried herself like a mature and full person. She sounded so intelligent.
Why is she doing this with ease? Because she has been taught, watch and seen by her mother every day.
Tell me, if this little has something authentic and important to say to the world, she will make it and earn from it.
And there is this little boy who is being trained by his parents to sing gospel songs and recite Bible passages, and it was so profound to listen to him, sing and speak. A few days ago, I watched him being interviewed by his father, and his response was impressive.
In all, parents should supervise them, know the time they should go and study, and the time to rest. In fact, they should do it once in a while to avoid distraction, since they are still in school. They should continue in their education, and when they are done, they can be full-time content creators.
God is raising voices and armies for the next generation.
