I like tube EQs and compressors in general :) they give some character to the general sound but can be tricky to use , specially if you mix loud as I do , the gain staging is important so not do distort

That was an interesting tone i received for that one .. its a headless bass , cant recall the brand . I did add a lot of low end in the mixing stage . Waves R-bass helps a lot with that ;)

It's starts in 7/8 if im not mistaken . I think you could consider this a bit jazz and progressive , and yup Steely Dan it's a good reference for this actually :)
