The sheer insanity of vaccine passports and the more concerning insanity that people were prepared to accept them really does highlight in stark grimness the unquestioning obedience of the masses. Forcing people to have a medical procedure, the vaccine, just so they can go out to legally enjoy a drink in a cafe or bar, or go out for a meal in a restaurant for me was one of the worst excessive aspects of government measures in response to the pandemic.
They tried to introduce this during the pandemic in my country Britain, and there was huge outcry which was actually glorious to witness. Boris Johnson, our then Prime Minister, pulled the idea. However, towards the end of the pandemic they were finally introduced but thankfully only for three weeks before they were permanently scrapped.
I would like to think it is one of the rare wins by the people against the surveillance state, it could be but that or it might just be that the British government found another reason which made it unviable to continue with the scheme. Whatever the actual reason I am pleased that we only embraced this particular madness for a very short period of time.
