Who is he who conquers the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
(1 John 5: 5)
I often hear people say: The important thing is not to win or lose, the important thing is to play well. What nonsense! If you play well, you will win!
Any coach will tell you that playing well implies having a winning attitude. That is what God wants us to have as believers: that our faith in Him be such that we can have the confidence to break down every obstacle that the devil throws at us. He wants us to have the confidence to win in the game of life.
That attitude is not always easily acquired. We are so used to losing that it is necessary that we totally change our thinking if we want to have a winning attitude. In Ephesians, the apostle Paul tells believers to renew their way of thinking. Like us, those believers needed to change their attitude and renew their understanding of the fact that Jesus had defeated the world.
If you haven't done that, you need to do it too. He needs to have a glorious sense of trust so he can say: I am going to be victorious because there is nothing that can avoid God's plan for my life.
In 1 John 5: 5 he describes it thus: Who is he who overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Do you know what that verse means?
It means that if you are a born again believer, you have the absolute right to be a victor to overcome every aspect of this evil world. Think and meditate on that. Start cultivating a winning attitude today.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his word, as he seems to some, but he is waiting in mercy for you, not desiring the destruction of any, but that all may be turned from their evil ways.
