In Hue - Vietnam, there are many great places to visit. One of the lesser known places is the Hue National High School.
Beside the romantic Huongriver, Hue National High School was built under King Thanh Thai (1896) with an area of 4,237 m2. This is the French-Vietnamese school of Indochina and the first middle school in Hue. The school is characterized by French architecture with colors, patterns, decorative motifs, main doors as well as additional windows. The surrounding and front of the school is the wall of dark red brick. In the middle of the school grounds, the statue of Nguyen Tat Thanh is plastered and today is covered with bronze in honor of President Ho Chi Minh.
Opposite the school gate is the National Literature School, built in the early 20th century, to commemorate the French and Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed for helping France fight the German army during World War I.
Over 100 years of history Hue National School still retains its ancient features and is an interesting sightseeing site in Hue.
