A stepper motor is a brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps. in other words we can say ,"a stepper motor is a motor whose rotor rotates step by step.
Types

Special features of Stepper Motor
- 1. Its output shaft rotates in series of discrete angular steps.
2. The no of pulse per unit time determine the motor speed.
3. Stepper motor can rotate in both direction .
4. It can sustain a holding torque at zero speed.
5. If more than one motor is driven from the same source then they will maintain perfect synchronization.
6.Stepper motor has a lower output and efficiency as compared to other motors.
