I'm 20 years old today! This means my teenage years are all behind me and I took some time this week to reflect on some of them, in particular those during high school.
I wish someone told me during high school that I did not have to stress that much about what happens afterwards. 99.9% of parents and teachers try and force the school-university-job mindset onto you and it does not have to be like that.
It was a crazy contrast for me going from 18 years of living in my parents house, then going to Thailand for 6 months all by myself. I learn't that there are so many ways to make a living and to live life without a university degree.
I think University is great if being a doctor, lawyer or something that requires a degree is what you want to do. But if not then don't let yourself be forced into doing something like that.
