Compressing your videos are a good way to allow for more space on the blockchain and to increase your upload speed to DTube. This is how I have uploaded almost 100% of my DTube videos since starting on the platform more than 2 months ago.
I edit the videos on iMovie and from there export them directly to my email.
On the computer I download the video and then upload it to DTube.
I don't think this will always be the best way to upload your videos, but for now it works well. Once DTube release a mobile app I will definitely use that.
