I've always been grateful for my work, my immediate head, my workmates and the culture in our Department, the Sales and Marketing. Perhaps blessed is an understatement of the countless opportunities my company bestowed to me in terms of professional and personal growth, adventure and misadventures and a lot of perks that come with every single drop of hardwork.
After one of our biggest company-wide events, the National Sales Convention (now called National Rally), my immediate head, the VP for Sales and Marketing, threw a simple get together to celebrate the success of our NASCON and as a way of showing his gratitude to all employees part of the organizing committee. Sir Stan has always been kind and generous to us. All my workmates who are here on Hive (there are a lot of them already here. Thanks to my convincing powers! Haha) can surely attest to the accuracy of this statement. He's always on the lookout of new places to eat, to visit when rewarding us, his employees, and he always makes sure we get the best rewards!
If my memory serves me well, that year Waterworld Cebu just launched the craziest and most death-defying water activities including the following: Tornado Water slide, 15-meter high Mat Racer, 18-meter high Speed Shooter, Space Hole, 40-meter Loop Slide, Family Camel Slide, Family Rapid Slide, Dare Drop Vertical Slide and a lot more. My boss knows the owner or was it someone from the management of the Waterworld and our HR immediately got in touch with them and voila, we scheduled the event on a Sunday. I arrived late at the venue since I still had a class in the morning. We had a sumptuous lunch and off we went to ride as many rides as we could. I've tried the longest slide, it was crazy. It felt like dying for about 10 seconds and reincarnating when I finally reached the ground! But I'll definitely do it again. I skipped the Dare Drop Vertical Slide which for me was the scaries of all the rides. Imagine being vertical dropped inside a long colored tube. Fear of heights and fear of enclosed spaces in one was just too much, I might just die. 😂
This was only one of the many perks at work. I was able to travel locally and internationally because of my work, too. But let's save that for later, for now I'll leave you with my photos at Waterworld Cebu. Have you tried a long water slide such as the ones in my photos? How was your experience?
