After visiting our first scottish castle - Dunnottar - we arrived in Aberdeen in the evening.
We had a nice B&B with impressive rooms in baroque style. We stayed two days to explore the city.
The first day, after a long walk through the industrial area, we found a little gem I´d recommend to every visitor: Footdee (also called Fittie) at the sea. This area is an old fishing village, founded in the Medieval times. You´ll find cute little fishermen houses along tiny streets, everything slows down, cats are playing, seagulls are screaming (again). So if you ever visit Aberdeen, don´t forget to take a walk through Footdee.
Nachdem wir unsere erste schottische Burg - Dunnottar - besucht hatten, erreichten wir am Abend Aberdeen. Wir waren in einem äußerst netten Bed & Breakfast untergebracht, mit beeindruckenden Räumen im Barock-Stil.
Am ersten Tag, nach einem langen Spaziergang durch das Industriegebiet, fanden wir ein kleines Highlight, das ich jedem Besucher empfehlen würde: Footdee, auch Fittie genannt, am Meer. Footdee ist ein altes Fischerdorf, im Mittelalter gegründet. Man findet schöne kleine Fischerhäuschen entlang enger Straßen, alles wird langsamer, Katzen sind am Spielen und - wie immer - die Möwen am Schreien. Also falls ihr jemals in Aberdeen seid, vergesst nicht in Footdee vorbeizuschauen!

Besides that, Aberdeen was moderately interesting for me and the prevalent color of the city is grey. The second day we made a long walk downtown, saw ... buildings, a cemetary and took a break at the university, where a team was playing a certain sport we didn´t know, while the weather was getting worse. Unfortunately it was no quidditch.
Daneben fand ich Aberdeen allerdings nur mittelmäßig interessant - die vorherrschende Farbe der Stadt ist Grau. Am zweiten Tag machten wir einen langen Spaziergang durch die Innenstadt und sahen... Gebäude, einen Friedhof und wir chillten eine Runde an der Universtität, wo eine Mannschaft eine uns unbekannte Sportart spielte, während das Wetter immer schlechter wurde. Leider war es kein quidditch...
In the evening we had some drinks in two different bars: Slains castle, a very nice decorated kind of horror rock pub and the Soul Bar, a converted church, where you can make your confession with cocktails in a very stylish atmosphere.
After two days we left Aberdeen to follow directions to Loch Ness, including a break at the beautiful castle ruin of Elgin...
Am Abend waren wir auf ein paar Drinks in zwei verschiedenen Bars: In Slains Castle, ein sehr schön dekorierter Horror Rock Pub und in der Soul Bar, eine umgebaute Kirche, wo man seine Beichte beim Cocktail in sehr stylischer Atmosphäre ablegen kann... ;)
