I appreciate your thoughts on the proposal. I just want to touch on a few points that I feel I should touch on.
I don't think that the current proposal for SPORTS is the fix to all SPORTS problems. I've been clear in other comments on posts about that. I think this is a step to incentivizing using the token site which builds up benefits like SEO and eventually advertising for that platform. That doesn't mean that the current proposal is necessary for those other features to be adopted it just would help incentivize the value of using the main site. It's the same incentivization LEO is using on their own tribe you posted this from.
As for the amount that is being set to burn from the proposal this is the same as another tribe that adopted this feature to much success already. It might be more than you were wanting to see so I welcome addition proposals to change the amount if you think it should be lower. That's the benefit of the proposal system is that only the community gets to say what happens so I encourage you to request this be changed if it does happen to pass. Right now the proposal I made hasn't received the necessary support and may not pass due to needing 51% of the tribe's GP for quorum. You'd be more than welcome to issue a lower one if you feel there would be support for it.
The same principle applies to dapps the community would like to see built. If anyone has an idea or feels that one should be ready then I encourage them to issue a proposal and seek SPORTS for creating it. I don't think anyone is against having more dapps and I would imagine that a strong proposal would be funded for one quickly. I have even personally funded dapp creation for SPORTS in the past though they didn't pan out the way I had hoped.
Finally as for the voting I don't disagree for SPORTS accounts (@sportstalksocial,
@sport-gov). I think it would make a lot of sense for SPORTS voting accounts to only vote for posts that originate from the main site. I'll look to see if I can adjust our daily curation report to reflect that and eventually make a proposal to see if that's something the community would like. As for OCD's support of the hive-101690 (Sports Talk Social) community, which I'm forever grateful for, I don't think they intend to directly support SPORTS posts. My understanding is that they are interested in growing communities on Hive versus supporting tokens of any kind. I won't speak for them but highly doubt they would be interested in only supporting posts from our site for that reason.
I hope this sheds some light where my head is with the system and why the proposal was initiated. Even if it does pass then we can always have additional proposals in the future that eliminate it all together or change the % or dapps allowed if that's desired. That, to me, is the beauty of having the proposal system in the first place. We aren't forced to rely on just what I, or anyone else, thinks about how this should be organized.
