This very verse reminds me that it is very important to examine anything that comes into my heart, because it can affect my thoughts and my words. This is why it is very important to be conscious of what we think. It can easily destroy us.
Proverbs 4:23 NIV
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Sometimes, we may think that small things do not matter, but they have the ability to destroy us, especially when we allow anger and other negative things to occupy our hearts. They can slowly take charge of our lives and the way we live.
But the only solution to that is to fill our hearts with God's word, pray, and think about good thoughts that can help our lives.
This is why, whenever I pray, I ask God to help me, so that not my will but His be done. I invite His presence to take control, so that His consciousness may be in my heart all day and night, and I may not be far away from Him.
