Hello peeps, welcome to my blog.
School was fun filled but at the verge of graduation I was praying and eager to graduate and vacate the premises because I suddenly felt chocked in a particular place.
However after some months, I wished I could go back just to see my mates and have lectures again...irony abi?
Reunion means different things to different people. Some see it as avenue to meet with friends once again, others see it as time to flaunt wealth and achievement to spite some people while others see it as mere social gathering.
For me, I see it as moment of catching up on old times, share ideas and opportunity with everyone to better our lives.
I've seen people who have sworn never to attend reunion again due to how humiliated and less privileged they felt at reunion.
As days turned into weeks, months and years, my mates and I thought it wise to have a reunion after our university education.
Before I go further, let me brief you about my school.
I did my secondary school at Government College Nasarawa (2007set) where some of my school mates were from the east, north, south and west. Only a handful were indigenous students.
Can I shock you? Since after graduation, I only met 1 of my friends/mates physical and most of them I can't even trace on Facebook. Most times I asked if my secondary school mates were ghosts though I see almost all my teachers online... From my point, you should understand that there has never been secondary school reunion for me.
My university, I attended a federal government university (University of Jos) and graduated in 2012. You can imagine that my school mates came from every region of Nigeria so organizing a reunion was a little bit difficult but we finally agreed to hold one five years after graduation but at the tail end, it was cancelled and I felt bad though we have WhatsApp and Facebook groups were we check up on each other all the time and hold mini meetings online also.
We were three closest friends back in the university but since after graduation in 2012, the three of us have never met under the same roof at the same time...one is always missing.
But in June 2022 a circumstance brought the three of us under same roof and we slept on the same bed, ate from the same plate, enjoyed grilled meat(suya) together, prayed and cried together.
The circumstance that brought about the reunion is not one to check out who stand out most to me.
Like I said to them, I wasn't happy that this was the situation that brought us together. I never imagined it will be so.
One of us loss her only sister which was the only reason we had a reunion. We went to sympathize with her.
So help me check oo. Is there any reason to check out who stand out most?
Finally, I want to state that I haven't been to any reunion yet but I know some day, it will actualize and I will definitely make a post about it.
Warm regards
