Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!!!
We started from Dehradun around midday after visiting the robbers cave and we were travelling via Taxi. We are a taxi driver to show us some famous spots along the way while we were going to Mussoorie. He suggested to go to Bhatta Falls. And it was right decision to make.
As soon as we cross the robbers cave in Gucchu Pani, the road slowly started gaining elevation. Dehradun is situated at a plain terrain and just after crossing the Robbers Cave, we slowly move towards the mountains. The view of Dehradun town is just mesmerising from up there.

After about 45 minutes of drive from the Robbers Cave, we reached Bhatta Falls. Bhatta Falls is situated about 300m down from the main road and it’s connected via a rope way. You have to get a ticket to ride in the rope way.
Starting point of the ropeway
The ticket is 250 Rupees per head for both sides. Once you buy a ticket, you are automatically eligible to travel both sides. You can see the ticket receipt below for the two tickets that we bought.

After taking the ticket from the ticket counter, we were now waiting for our turn to get on the rope car and get down towards the Bhatta Falls. After waiting for about 2 minutes we got the call to sit inside the rope car.
The rope car was very colourful and vibrant. It was coloured red from the outside and blue from the inside. It could sit about 6 people comfortably and was in good condition. We got in along with our fellow travellers and started our journey.
While we were on our way, we saw some of the best views ever. It literally felt like we were flying around and everything was looking so tiny when we looked down. We were easily above 200-300 m from the ground level and it was really an experience to be remembered.
We also saw some of the rope cars coming up from the Bhatta Falls. When we got near to the other car, we all greeted them and they greeted us. It was an amazing feeling that we shared with other people.
The Rope Car was quite safe too. It was equipped with good fencing and was quite strong. We felt quite safe inside of it that’s why we stood up inside it and captured these beautiful photos for you guys. Although we experienced some little shakes and bumps but it was manageable and we didn’t feel bad at all.
We reached down after about a 5 min ride in the ropeway. We fell in love with this place immediately. There were a lot of fun activities to do there and there was a good restaurant too. We were not hungry so we decided to proceed with doing activities and exploring the area.
There was a small pond there for boating which looked really inviting. The greenery in the background added to the overall vibe of this place and made it more attractive and appealing.

From there, there was a short walk upto the Bhatta Falls of 5-10 minutes. It’s not a very big waterfall but it’s quite good. There are many small food places on the way to the falls that provide you with a place to sit and dip your legs inside the water stream. There are tables set up inside of the water stream on the water coming from the waterfall.

The Bhatta falls was right in front of us just after a short walk. We sat in a cafe right next to the falls and had tea there. The tiny water droplets that were coming from the falling water was so refreshing and made that experience a memorable one.

We took some photos near the waterfall and spent some time there. After a while we went back to the boating place and asked for the tickets but by the time we were there, it got temporarily closed for lunch. As we didn’t had time and we had to travel a lot, we skipped that idea and went back upto the starting point.
It’s a good place for a short weekend getaway and picnics. It’s probably better for the kids and it’s quite safe and accessible. You should definitely go to this place whenever you are travelling to Mussoorie.
That’s all for today.
That’s for passing by.
