Introduction

In this post, I would like to talk about banned and injured players. In the ten seasons that I've played, I have never had an injury crisis like this. At one point, 3 out of my back 4 and soon after my goalkeeper. Events are as follows:

Matchday 2 - 1 defender (1 match)
Matchday 3 - 1 attacker (6 matches)
Matchday 6 - 1 defender (5 matches)
Matchday 7 - 2 defenders (8 & 10 matches)
Matchday 10 - 1 goalkeeper (9 matches)
Matchday 11 - 1 red card (5 matches)

Vulnerability stat.

Let's take a look at the vulnerability stat. of these players.

Matchday 2 - 1 defender - 0
Matchday 3 - 1 attacker - 26
Matchday 6 - 1 defender - 12
Matchday 7 - 2 defenders - 0 and 30
Matchday 10 - 1 goalkeeper - 10

The irony was that the defender who supposedly has no vulnerability got injured twice. The player who was out for the longest period had a vul. stat. of 30, that I can understand. We have a defender who has a vulnerability stat. of 68 and plays week in week out but he never got injured. It seems we were very (un)lucky to have a player with zero vul. to have been injured twice in one season.

Relationship with Endurance

Could it be that a player who has low Endurance is more prone to injuries? Let's compare the two stats of these players.

Matchday 2 - defender - vul. 0, end. 36
Matchday 3 - attacker - vul. 26, end. 29
Matchday 6 - defender - vul. 12, end. 70
Matchday 7 - defenders - vul. 0, end. 36 and vul. 30, end.35
Matchday 10 - goalkeeper - vul. 10, end. 47

Without looking at a bigger sample of data, we cannot conclude there is a relationship between endurance and injuries. I hope we don't have the same bad start next season.
