I don't consider myself to be an investor. In fact my involvement in Steem, Palnet and SteemLeo is my first experience in investing. As so many Steemians before me I discovered that from posting and commenting alone an account grows very slowly. So I began buying Steem and staked it, to improve my voting power.
In a period of several weeks I spend 900 euro (1021 dollar) and bought 2650 Steem. Today I have 2954 Steem powered up. So I got a little more than 300 Steem by writing posts, commenting and voting for others. And participating in the contests of @organduo. In Steem that is a profit of a little more than 11%. In dollars my powered up Steem is worth 1023 dollar. So no real gain there. I guess we're all waiting for the price of Steem to rise.
Then 3 and a half weeks ago Palnet suddenly appeared. Since then I spend 2100 euro (2370 dollar) on buying PAL and have now 25160 PAL staked. At the moment of writing that is worth 3672 dollar, or 3254 euro. That is a gain of around 55%. From those 25160 I got 1044 by posting, commenting and voting. That's a 4% growth, compared with the staked volume now. I realized that 1044 PAL in the periode I had 17820 staked. That's almost a 6% growth. Extrapolated to a full year that would mean a growth of 85%.
And yesterday SteemLeo arrived. The air drop left 17820 in my wallet. I spend 361 dollar to bring my total to 30020 LEO. The total value of my staked LEO is at the moment of writing 837 dollar. The portion I bought is worth around 340. A slight loss there, after the first day.
All three together cost me 3320 euro (3751 dollar) to acquire. All three together are now worth 4901 euro (5532 dollar). That's a total growth of almost 48%. I started buying a little less than 2 months ago. Most of that 48% comes from the rise in worth of PAL and from posting, commenting and voting on Palnet. Understandebly I'm very curious how profitable posting, commenting and voting on SteemLeo is going to turn out to be.
Consedering I have very little experience in investing, I think I can conclude my results of the past two months are not bad for an investing newbie.
Let's see what result july will bring.
